What It Takes to be an Artist (From my POV)

I've been taking art classes recently. It's been tough - becoming an artist is no joke. It means going to extremes to find your materials, staying up all night, meeting millions of deadlines. I've learned so much about the true design process in the last few months. It's a lot different from fine art, which is what I studied before.

master copy. figures are part of any design program's foundation. or at least they should be.
and the following are something called "process photos" from a project I did using gelatin.

Electronic Dance Music... and what I recommend

Everyone loves music right?

But these days a lot of people seem to dislike digital music. The first wave hit the masses when eurotrance and trance became popular in the early 21st century.

Then the second most notable wave hit when Dubstep burst out of nowhere. Everyone knew about dubstep by the time 2012 came to a close, and when this wave first crashed dubstep was synonymous with "Skrillex."

Now many genres of electronic music have emerged from the shadows, and collectively they have become something known as EDM - ELECTRONIC. DANCE. MUSIC.

I don't know about you, but I am sure a fan of this digital era. These musical trends aren't of any less calibur. Of course, music that was purely composed of raw voice and musical instruments... that will never die. This trend in electronic music may die. But for now it's here to stay. And let me tell you, it's really worth listening to.

Change of Plans

To the very few people who still read this blog:

This blog has changed direction since it was first born. Unfortunately, my partner and good friend Allison has decided to leave the team. I am really grateful for everything we learned together Allison, thank you for being a part of this experience. You really helped with this blog's foundation. I know we've had our differences, so I'm glad we are still friends. You'll be welcomed warmly if you ever want to be a part of it again.

I also think that I will be making this blog a little bit more personal, now that I have really committed to being an artist. This blog will be dedicated to my studies, my projects, my life. But I still want to make creative makeup videos. I hope this will be an inspiration to somebody, anybody at all.

That's just me rambling on though. Now that I've managed to finish my college applications (and most of my first semester studies), I can dedicate more time to everything. FANTASTIC!

Cheers

We're Alive - and IPSY!

The two of us have been extremely busy these days. Senior year of high school... woop woop! Of course we wish we could update more, but we both have a lot to deal with as of right now. Just wanted to do a quick update, in an effort to keep this page alive. This website will explode with new ideas once college applications are over!

...and Allison was kind enough to gift me an IPSY subscription! My first Glam Bag just arrived today.

I think I'm in love.

We cheated on American Apparel a little bit...

We all know that American Apparel can be very far from the reaches of our budget. We love the designs, but we wind up avoiding the purchase. I know there are a lot of you out there. The two of us are also part of that group.

So what do we do? We wait for opportunities like this...
"Up to 90% off of retail pricing" (verbatim from the advertisements)

Naturally we respond in the following manner:
"WE'RE GOING.  NOW."

Your old makeup... and what to do with it

Ever wonder what you could do with your old makeup instead of throwing it out? As a fellow makeup junkie, I know just how "painful" that can be. (I hate to say it, but serious #firstworldproblems).

I made a video explaining what I do with my expired makeup products. Hope you watch it and learn something!

Cheers!

Hello, Spring!

Hi - it's been too long!!!!
This look was inspired by the new spring season. I'm excited the temperature's warming up a little, which is very unusual of me. I love winter~ Anyways... here are some photos.

I'm obsessed with the way winged liner looks when the eyes are closed! Retro eyeliner flies upward at a sharp angle, no cat-eye curves.

Close-up... I hate close ups. They're... too invasive

Coral Flush

Hey, all!
So this look is very quick and simple, and great for every day!
I think that this look is especially suitable for spring and summer, but of course, you can wear it any time during the year!
